A road was closed in Romsey due to the discovery of a suspected ‘unexploded bomb’ in the River Test. Police secured the area as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team mobilised to the scene.
The EOD team confirmed that the device – which was pulled out of the river by a magnet fisherman – was an 18-pounder shell and was safe to remove.
