3-Inch Mortar Found on the Beach at Dovercourt

A controlled explosion was undertaken after a metal detectorist found a 1950s-era 3-inch mortar on Dovercourt beach in Essex.  The device was partially submerged in the mud and was still live.

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team carried out the safe detonation in situ.
