4.2 Inch Mortar Found in Leicestershire Garden

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended a property in Quorn, Leicestershire after a resident found a suspected 4.2 inch mortar.

The resident was digging out a large concrete shelter at the bottom of his garden, which contained a variety of relics, including ordnance!

After calling the Police, the property was cordoned off and the EOD team arrived to confirm that the device was still live and removed it for a controlled explosion in a safe location.
