500kg UXB Found in Soho London
Widescale evacuations and a large security cordon were put in place in Soho, central London after the discovery of a suspected 500kg Unexploded Bomb (UXB) on a building site.
Police shut down a large area after the discovery of the device in the busy London district prior to the attendance of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.
The cordon was gradually scaled down as the EOD team took control of the situation, with the bomb deemed safe to move overnight. It is believed that it will be destroyed in a remote location.
