An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called to an unusual scene near Kirton in Lindsey, Lincolnshire, after a large device – suspected to be an American bomb – was found dumped in a ditch at the side of the road.
The origin of the device is unclear but fortunately it was empty, meaning that it could be safely removed without undue concern caused.
The bomb appears to be a practice variant dating from post-WWII.
