A suspected WWII artillery shell was unearthed in a Harrogate garden, prompting the evacuation of nearby houses. ÀšÃ‚ The item was unearthed by a local resident whilst erecting a fence at hisÀšÃ‚ property and the Police put in place a 100m safety cordon.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from Catterick arrived at the scene and identified that the detonator from the shell was absent and therefore it could be safely removed.
