Bomb Disposal Called Out for Highlands Souvenir Cache

A cache of military souvenirs found at a property in Newtonmore in the Scottish Highlands had to be dealt with by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team. The box contained a variety of live ammunition, explosive trip wires and flares, thought to have been stashed by a former Home Guard member after World War Two (WWII).

The EOD team destroyed the flares in a controlled explosion on nearby farmland, whilst the ammunition was removed for disposal elsewhere.
