It was a busy evening for the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team in the south-west of England after they attended three separate incidents. A 19th century projectile was found in Newton Abbott that required a controlled explosion, a purported ‘rocket’ was retrieved from a resident’s loft in Brixham and a hand grenade was removed from Newquay Police Station after being brought in by a local.
The Newquay incident, in particular, caused considerable disruption, with the local station having to be temporarily closed before the EOD team could arrive.
