Children Inadvertantly Play With Mortar Bomb on Scottish Beach

Children learnt a valuable lesson on the beach of Rosemarkie in the Scottish Highlands after an item they were playing with turned out to be part of a WWII mortar bomb. Fortunately, no harm befell the youngsters and their family alerted the Coastguard who mobilised an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.

The EOD team suggested that the device was still viable and it was destroyed in a controlled explosion.
