Brighton city centre was partially cordoned off after the discovery of a suspected unexploded mortar. The device was found during planned renovation works and resulted in the Police diverting traffic from the scene.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was mobilised to the scene and, after tamping the device with sandbag, carried out a controlled explosion.
