A controlled explosion was carried out after Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) was pulled from the River Cam near Trinity College. The discovery of the device (exact type unknown) resulted in the college being cordoned off by Police as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was mobilised.
The EOD team moved the device to nearby playing fields where it was destroyed in a controlled explosion.
