Controlled Explosion for Grenade Fished from River Medway

A street was cordoned off in Maidstone after an angler brought home a WWII hand grenade he had fished out of the River Medway.  After realising the nature of the device he informed the Police, who duly mobilised an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.

The EOD team transported the grenade to fields nearby and undertook a controlled explosion.
