An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team undertook a controlled explosion after a metal detectorist found a hand grenade buried on farmland near Amersham, Buckinghamshire.
After the metal detectorist called the Police, an EOD unit was mobilised and they destroyed the device in situ.
The find occurred near the location of a World War Two army camp which was used, amongst others, by the Middlesex Regiment and Highland Regiment.
