Controlled Explosion for Shell Found at Preston Recycling Centre

A controlled explosion was carried out on a WWII shell found at a recycling centre near Preston. The device was move to an open area of grassland where it was destroyed by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.

Items of UXO regularly turn up at recycling centres, as people try and rid themselves of explosive wartime souvenirs.
