An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team carried out a controlled explosion after Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) washed up on Largo Beach in Fife.
Some local properties were evacuated after Police were called to the discovery of the device (exact nature unknown).
The adjacent Firth of Forth was used for firing practice during World War Two (WWII), including by Defensively Armed Merchant Ships (DEMS).
