A controlled explosion was carried out after the discovery of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) on the beach at Collieston in Aberdeenshire.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was mobilised to the beach by the Police, after they had been informed of the find by a member of the public. A suspected two-inch mortar had been washed up, along with a smoke float pyrotechnic device.
