An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called out after Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) was found on the beach near Gullane in East Lothian. A member of the public had spotted the device, type unknown. The EOD team undertook a controlled explosion.
The section of coastline near Gullane was used for air to ground firing practice during World War Two (WWII) and items periodically wash up along the area’s coastline.
