Controlled Explosion for UXO Found on Lancashire Farm

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team carried out a controlled explosion after suspected Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) was found on a Lancashire farm.

The farmer called the Police to his property in the Shawforth area of Rossendale after discovering the item. An EOD team was duly mobilised and they destroyed the device in situ.

It is unknown what type of ordnance the device was.
