An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called to an address in Weston-super-Mare after a resident realised that an item they had brought back from a trip to Portsmouth was potential Unexploded Ordnance (UXO).
The device – thought to be World War One in origin – was found on the shoreline near Portico Docks. The EOD team removed the device to nearby Sandy Bay where it was destroyed in a controlled explosion.
