Controlled Explosion for Mortar Shells Found in Angus Glen

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was expected to carry out a controlled explosion on several 2″ mortar shells (WWII) found by a walker at Glen Doll in Angus.

Large swathes of rural Scotland were requisitioned for military use during WWI and WWII, the remote and rugged terrain seen as both a safe and challenging environment for training recruits at every level.
