Controlled Explosion for WWII Shell Found in Penge

A small unexploded shell – thought to date from WWII – was found on a building site at Kingswood Road in Penge, London. A cordon was temporarily put in place until an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team could arrive at the site.

The EOD team removed the shell to nearby Betts Park, where it was destroyed in a controlled explosion.
