A section of a practice ‘Bouncing Bomb’ has been found washed up on the beach at Reculver near Canterbury. Renowned for their role in the legendary ‘Dambusters’ (Operation Chastise) raid against German Ruhr dams in May 1943, Bouncing Bombs were extensively tested as part of their development by Barnes Wallis.
A piece of history washed up on a British beach…and completely harmless to boot!
