Dog Digs up Shell on Studland Beach

A dog owner got a nasty surprise on Studland Beach after his French bulldog dug up a WWII-era shell. The beach was used for major military training exercises in the build-up to D-Day and ordnance is regularly found in the area.

After calling the emergency services, the owner was relieved when an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team confirmed that the shell was safe and removed it for disposal.
