An unexploded shell has been destroyed by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team at a farm near Dartmoor in Devon. Found on the grounds of the farm turned cafe, the shell was moved to an adjacent open field where it was detonated in a controlled explosion.
Apparently previously used as a door stop, it is not known whether the device was live or whether it was destroyed as a precaution.
Yet another reminder of the potential hazards surrounding military souvenirs!
