Dummy Round Results in Closure of Shoreham Airport

A suspected Unexploded Bomb (UXB) that closed Shoreham Airport was identified as a ‘dummy round’. The item was found during excavations for nearby flood defence works and resulted in the mobilisation of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.

The EOD team confirmed that the non-explosive device dated from between the 1980s and the early 1990s and removed it.
