EOD Team Mobilise to Southampton Wharf After Dredger UXO Find

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called out to Tarmac’s Southampton Wharf at Marine Parade after an item of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) was brought in on a dredging boat.  Such finds are fairly common during dredging activities and guidance is available to advise commercial companies about the risk posed by UXO and how to address it.

Fortunately the appropriate protocols were followed, preventing the possibility of UXO being inadvertently transferred within aggregate to a building site. The EOD team ensured the device was safe before removing it.
