German Anti-Personnel Bombs Found on Sark

Two German S-Mines – anti-personnel bombs developed prior to WWII – have been destroyed in a controlled explosion after being found on Sark in the Channel Islands.  A third unexploded device (exact type unknown) was destroyed after being found in Alderney.

Having been occupied by German forces during WWII, the Channel Islands often throw up the occasional ‘interesting’ Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) find not typically seen on British territory.
