An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team removed a World War Two (WWII) German Incendiary Bomb (IB) from a property in north Dorset.
The small 1kg and 2kg IBs were dropped in vast quantities by the Luftwaffe during WWII. As well as causing fire damage, they served as target markers for following waves of aircraft dropping heavier High Explosive (HE) bombs. They were commonly retrieved and kept as souvenirs, periodically turning up in residential properties as a result.
