Example German stick grenade
Residents of Whitchurch in Shropshire got a surprise when a WWII-era German stick grenade was found near a supermarket in the town centre. The origin of the device is not known, although it is assumed to be an unwanted souvenir.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team arrived and removed the grenade to a nearby playing field where they undertook a controlled explosion.
