Grenade Finds Disrupt Allotments in Fife

File photo

Digging has been put on hold at allotments at Silverburn Park in Leven, Fife after a series of grenade finds.  The park encompassing the allotments was used by the Polish Army for training during WWII and it is thought that the recent discoveries may relate to this activity.

A specialist risk assessment and remediation of the land is due to take place prior to it being returned for public use.
