Tram services were closed in Croydon after the discovery of a WWII grenade in woodland along the tracks between Waddon Marsh and Ampere Way. Police closed the line and put in place a security cordon so that an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team could attend.
The EOD team removed the device for safe disposal and traffic gradually got going once more.
