A guest at a holiday park in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight mistook a hand grenade for a fossil and returned it to their caravan. Having realised what the device might be the Police were informed and the area evacuated.
A Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team arrived and removed the grenade.
