An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called to Minehead beach after the discovery of a hand grenade by the public. The Coastguard had initially been alerted and put in place a security cordon.
The EOD confirmed that the grenade was of World War One vintage and that it didn’t contain any explosives. It was removed for disposal.
