An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called in after a magnet fisherman pulled two hand grenades from a Fenland drain near Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. Police sealed off a road and put in place a 100m security cordon.
The grenades – a modern design only in use for approximately 20 years – were removed by the EOD team for safe disposal.
