Large Shell Dredged up off Shoreham Declared Empty

A large shell dredged up by a ship offshore and brought back to Shoreham Harbour was declared empty by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team. The ship was evacuated as a precaution after its crew informed the local Coastguard of their find.

A Royal Navy EOD team arrived from Portsmouth and on inspection declared the device safe and removed it.
