Magnet Fishermen Haul UXO out of the Grand Union Canal in Northants

The magnet fishermen have struck again, this time hauling out a 16″ shell from the Grand Union Canal in Braunston, Northamptonshire.  An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team removed the shell for safe disposal elsewhere.

It is the second such find in a matter of days, after a teenager fished out a suspected ‘Boer War’ era mortar shell from the same canal at Blisworth. An EOD was also mobilised in this instance to deal with the device.
