Magnet Fishermen Pull Four UXO Items from the River Clyde

A magnet fishing club in Glasgow pulled out no less than four items of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) from the River Clyde. Grenades and shells were amongst the finds near Dalmarnock Bridge which resulted in the Police putting in place road closures and evacuating houses around the scene.

A Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called in to assess and remove the devices.

Magnet fishermen continue to stretch the resources of military EOD, with heavy duty magnets capable of hauling up even fairly large unexploded shells.
