An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called out after the discovery of a live military flare on the beach at Silverdale in North Lancashire. A member of the public had spotted the flare and quickly alerted the Coastguard at Arnside.
The EOD team destroyed the flare in a controlled explosion.
