More Bombs Found on at Former Mappleton Sands Range
Controlled explosions have been carried out on Mappleton Sands in the East Riding of Yorkshire after more unexploded bombs were found on the beach. Dog walkers came across the three devices, located at the site of a former bombing and air-gunnery range where there have been numerous UXO finds in recent years.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was mobilised by the Coastguard, which themselves had the added panic of saving the dog walkers from the incoming tide!
