Yet another item of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) has been found at Medmerry Beach in Selsey. The site of a WWII air-to-ground firing range, ordnance is becoming an increasingly regular find on this stretch of coastline as the processes of erosion expose more land.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was mobilised to assess the latest device to be found, although by the time they arrived it had been covered by the tide. The device was relocated the following morning and destroyed in a controlled explosion.
