For the second day running Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) has been found at Yard Quay at Poole, with today’s item described as an unexploded shell. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team is attending the site and has put a safety cordon in place around the Semex Sand Yard.
These latest discoveries – two of a series at Poole in recent years – are thought to be the result of offshore dredging which requires suitable measures to be put in place to mitigate against potential safety hazards and disruption to industrial and commercial life.
Further information is awaited regarding the type of UXO and its source.
