After eight ordnance-related items were found on Westcliff Beach near Southend-on-Sea before Christmas, additional items of UXO have been uncovered in the same area in the new year.
The Coastguard was notified and after they located the suspected UXO, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was mobilised.
An armour-piercing shell was discovered, in addition to several World War Two Incendiary Bombs, which had been found by bait diggers operating in the area. All of the items were safely removed.
