Souvenir Hunters Strike Again: EOD Team to East Grinstead

A controlled explosion was carried out near East Grinstead yesterday after a cache of WWII munitions was found in a garden shed. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from the Royal Logistics Corps (RLC) removed a 3-inch mortar, in addition to rifle bullets and blank ammunition, from the property after a resident phoned the Police.

It appears to be another case of wartime relics being kept as souvenirs, only in the case of UXO there is always a greater risk than an outpouring of dust!

Make sure ordnance is inert before keeping it in your home.
