Suspected Artillery Shells Found on Warrington Building Site

Controlled explosions have taken place on 2No. suspected World War Two (WWII) artillery shells found by builders on Thelwall Lane in Warrington.

Police cordoned off several roads and evacuated houses prior to the arrival of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, who removed the devices to a safe location prior to carrying out the controlled detonations.
