A controlled explosion has been undertaken at the RSPB Arne Common reserve in Dorset after a suspect land mine was found. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called in after the device was found by a member of the public.
Arne Common was part of the Studland Bay Battle Training Area during World War Two (WWII) and was extensively used after 1942 by troops involved in firing a wide variety of munitions.
