Suspected UXB Near Dartford Crossing Revealed as Empty Shell

A suspected Unexploded Bomb (UXB) found on an Essex industrial estate has been identified as an empty shell.  The discovery of the device in Grays prompted the closure of the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge at Dartford Crossing during rush hour, with the ensuing chaos to boot.

Police mobilised an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team who declared the device free of explosives and removed it from the premises.
