Suspected UXO Causes Train Delays Near Hartlepool

A suspected unexploded device from World War Two caused suspension to railway services between Hartlepool and Seaham in County Durham. The device was found near the railway line near Blackhall and prompted the mobilisation of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.

The incident was resolved later the same evening and it is unclear what type of item was discovered.
