Training Mortar Causes Disruption in North Wales

Homes were evacuated and local transport routes temporarily closed after the discovery of a WWII-era mortar in the garden of a house in Ruabon near Wrexham.

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called and confirmed that the item was a training device that did not contain any explosives. The item was removed and life has, presumably, returned to normal.
