Two Shells Found in a Beck at Middleton-in-Teesdale

Two shells discovered in a beck near Middleton-in-Teesdale have been removed by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.  The items were found by a dog walker and are believed to date from World War Two (WWII).

The Police mobilised an EOD team, which confirmed that the shells were not live and they were taken to Catterick Garrison for safe disposal.
