Unexploded Bomb Found on Saltfleet Beach

The Coastguard was called out to a beach at Saltfleet in Lincolnshire after a member of the public found suspected Unexploded Ordnance (UXO).

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team arrived and confirmed that the device was live and likely an air-dropped bomb used during practice on the Donna Nook ranges, which encompass a large stretch of the northeast Lincolnshire coast.

Two controlled explosions were required to safely destroy the device in situ.
